Drop into Student Services to pick up your form, if you don't have your hours completed and handed into Student Services you will not graduate! Community Hours for Grads are due June 8, 2012.
Remember: Hours must be completed after school hours (can not be during school hours) and there is criteria to follow i.e. you must do community hours for a non-profit organization.

LDSS Student Awards Form is available, it is due to be returned by Friday, June 8, 2012. This form is what you need to be eligible for awards donated by our community and they are presented at Commencement. There is a list of the awards in Student Services. You must also have this form filled in if you are an Ontario Scholar.
Kinsmen/Kinette Scholarship - DUE FEB. 1, 2012 (return to Student Services Office)
- application available in Student Services
Eligibility:
1. Canadian Citizen
2. Plan to register as a full-time student at a recognized post-secondary institution.
3. Please return to Student Services and we will return to Kinettes.
4. Demonstrate high ideals and qualities of citizenship, and not have previously received a bursary from the Hal Rogers Endowment Fund.
Alan A. Simpson Award - Deadline May 1st - (return to Student Services)
$1500 - All post secondary education, apprenticeship and job training are eligible.
Eligibility: 1. Must be a graduating LDSS Student
2. Show passion and committment to developing your talents/abilities/skills
and be pursuing these talents through post-secondary education, apprenticeship
or job training.
The Application:
1. Must include a written personal statement 250 words, organized in 3 paragraphs:
a) what you consider to be your talents/abilities/skills
b) what goal you hope to achieve through this study
c) how this award would make a difference to you
2. A current resume illustrating:
* personal interests and achievements,
* school/community participation,
* related volunteer and work experiences.
3. LDSS Awards Application Form must accompany the above.

Student Services has many resources about Ontario Colleges. We have a "How to Apply" booklet to help you with your application.

Commencement is Friday, October 7, please arrive at LDSS at 6:45p.m., you will be assigned to a classroom so you may line up as to the order you will be sitting in. Commencement Ceremony begins at 7:30, it is first come first served seating for parents, there is no limit as to how many people you may bring.

The 2011 Student Award Form is available now in Student Services, Applications are due June 9, 2011, get yours filled in and returned early so you don't miss out!!
