- Females Using Energy for Life (F.U.E.L.)
This spring, a new group, F
.U.E.L. (Females Using Energy for Life) was formed. This group of girls has worked together to promote physical activity for young females at LDSS. They have organized after school activity sessions such as hula hooping, kickboxing, Nia, yoga and Zumba for female students and staff. These activities are free of charge thanks to an "On the Move" incentive grant. Special thanks go out to Katherine Horst from the Perth District Health Unit for all of her help and Jayne Edighoffer, school based nurse for her comittment to the group as well. Group members consist of Alanna Coneybeare, Taylor Curran, Carly Dunbar, Amy Kieftenberg, Megan Danieli and Tenisha Rehberg. Teacher supervisors include: A. Kaye, L. Coghlin and R. Kellington. Upcoming Fuel sessions include Yoga on May 9 and Zumba on May 16.
